Conservation
HRMUD is very conscientious about promoting water conservation.

Rebate programs are offered for the installation of low flow toilets, the purchase of water-saving washers, and the replacement of turf with water-efficient landscape. The district, in cooperation with El Paso Electric, also offers a cash incentive program to replace water evaporative coolers with refrigerated units.

Thanks to a desert well donated by HRMUD, the Clint Independent School District is able to use irrigation on its sports fields, saving treated water and saving the school district money. The water district also provides effluent water to the local golf course.

This is just the tip of HRMUD’s conservation initiatives.
